Istanbul Restaurants is an independent dining guide covering more than 5,300 restaurants across Istanbul's 78 neighbourhoods. We exist to answer one simple question — where should I eat tonight? — accurately, honestly, and without wasted words.
Our Story
Istanbul is one of the world's great food cities — but for newcomers (and even for many residents), finding the right restaurant is surprisingly hard. Review platforms are flooded with tourist traps rated five stars by tour groups. Word-of-mouth works well if you already know locals, but not if you just landed at Sabiha Gökçen.
We built Istanbul Restaurants to solve that. Our goal is a single, trustworthy resource that covers the full range of Istanbul dining — from a 90-lira lahmacun counter in Fatih to a Bosphorus-view fine dining table in Kuruçeşme — organised in a way that makes it easy to find exactly what you need for your situation.
Every restaurant on this platform has been individually reviewed for data accuracy. Our in-depth neighbourhood and cuisine guides are written to give real context — not just a list of names, but an explanation of what makes each area or cuisine type worth exploring.

How We Work
We start with the city
Our restaurant database covers every dining neighbourhood in Istanbul — from the fish restaurants of Arnavutköy to the meyhane backstreets of Asmalımescit and the experimental kitchens of Karaköy. We do not limit ourselves to tourist hotspots.
We apply editorial criteria
Ratings and review counts matter, but they are not the whole picture. We look at cuisine authenticity, value for money, neighbourhood fit, and whether a place is genuinely worth a visit — not just famous for being famous.
