Çınaraltı Cafe Çengelköy

We visited to pay homage to the legendary TV series “Süper Baba”, but it was very disappointing. - Service is not organised. - You have to pay for using restrooms which are in terrible condition. See pictures. - the indoor seating area smelled like a sewer. I think this place can be wonderful if maintained and run properly 😉 Until then, we won’t be coming back.

On weekends it gets crowded and you have to wait for a table by the sea or any table at all. You can bring your own food, but drinks are not allowed. The place is beautiful and the staff are friendly.

Nice place with a perfect view. However, I'm taking off 2 stars due to the toilets and overall hygiene. The restrooms need better maintenance, especially considering there is a separate fee to use them. The tables could also be cleaned more thoroughly. With improved cleanliness and upkeep, the experience would be much better.

We brought some of our own breakfast and also ordered a few things from the cafe. Sitting right by the sea with that beautiful Bosphorus view made it such a perfect morning. The atmosphere was relaxed and local, and everything just tasted better with that view.

The view is amazing. The restaurant itself is the worst experience ever. - innatantive personnel, I had been waiting for 15 minutes. After they took my order, I got only part of it. The rest... they forgot - sanitary? No. Way too dirty - 10 Turkish lyras to wash the hands - by the way, it's quite expensive. Not the right price for the offered quality. The Bosforus is amazing though. I don't understand at all why this place is rated so high

A must visit place by the Bosporus channel. Historic place with nice view over the channel. BBC News fast service. Waiters will come to you and bring the tea keeping their eye on you and checking if your glass is empty or full. If empty they will ask you if you want more and if not you are eligible to leave. Funny.

The place is amazing But there is no service.. i just sit waited for 10-15min for someone to take the order and there was none

Located in a small alley right by the water! It was busy and the many staff members immediately attended to each new guest. We were lucky enough to get a free table by the water 🥳 the waiter Hasan was very attentive, friendly and funny! We ordered Caffe Latte, Turkish Coffee, Nut Baklava and Kazandibi. The value for money was good - we'll be back when we're in Istanbul.

Amazing place to sit down and have a nice conversation with your friends. The view is amazing and the Turkish chai and coffee offered are outstanding. The service is quiet fast and they also accept card payments. They are kind enough to allow you to bring your own food items but not drinks. They have a variety of drinks including flavoured tea, traditional coffee etc.

Beautiful spot for breakfast/lunch on the Bosphorus, but you'll need to be nimble to snag a spot on the water, and you may need to wait around. The rest of the outdoor garden is nice enough, though. We ordered the breakfast, they approach you/you call them over. Food came QUICK, surprisingly for the number of tables. Pretty cheap and there are a ton of options on the menu, great for sharing and everyone will find something. Recommend if you're on the Asian side of the water.
