The best baklava I have ever eaten, anywhere. The fıstıklı (pistachio) variety — tissue-thin pastry, clarified butter, fresh pistachios — is a masterpiece of restraint and quality. Queue for it. It is absolutely worth it.

We bought a kilo to take home and it didn't survive the flight — we ate it all at the airport. That should tell you everything. The freshness and quality of the ingredients is extraordinary. One of the great food experiences of Istanbul.

Long queues but very well organised. The baklava varieties are extensive and all excellent. The walnut version is slightly less sweet than the pistachio, which I preferred. Prices are very reasonable for the quality.
