Feriye Lokantası

Before visiting Feriye, we had heard many positive things, and it truly lived up to the expectations. From the moment we arrived, the overall atmosphere and Bosphorus setting created a wonderful dining experience. For the main courses, we had the Küşleme and the slow-cooked beef ribs, and both dishes were excellent. The meats were perfectly cooked, tender, flavorful, and very well balanced in terms of taste and presentation. We also tried the Feriye mezze selection, including fava, zucchini blossom dolma, spicy yogurt, and the lentil-based mezze. Every single dish was impressive, but the zucchini blossom dolma was definitely the highlight of the evening and something we would highly recommend. The service team was attentive, professional, and genuinely welcoming throughout our visit. The combination of food quality, atmosphere, and service made this more than just a dinner, it felt like a complete dining experience. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a memorable dining experience in Istanbul. We will definitely be returning.

Although the place is hard to find and you have to go through some inner courtyards to enter, the food was very tasty and well prepared. It’s worth noting that it isn’t well signposted, so you need to look carefully to find it. They also serve a complimentary item upon seating. The waiter who took our order was impeccable. However, the hostess and the waiter who cleared the table have room for improvement. First, the hostess was not particularly friendly and refused to seat every arriving guest by the seaside—apparently reserving the better tables for “special guests,” which leaves an unpleasant impression on others. Before seating us, she emphasized twice that we would need to order from the dinner menu, which was already our intention. Overall, she made us feel as though we were not important enough for the place. The waiter who cleared the table lifted my cup twice before I had finished my tea. The restaurant truly creates a sense of elegance, and the prices are high. However, precisely because of this, I expect all guests to be treated with sufficient respect.

Super nice and delicious restaurant! Worth the money spent! In a top spot, by the Bosphorus, you can admire the ocean traffic and the seagulls fishing. Great views all around you! The food was tasty and prepared with culinary skills. Drinks were also quite special. Prior reservations are recommended.

I’ll be trying more dishes soon, but so far — the food is definitely tasty. We mostly ordered starters, and I’d rate them 8–9 out of 10. Really solid. As for the mains and the service: the service was very good. The staff were friendly and welcoming. They even offered to move us to a better table with a Bosphorus view as soon as one became available — that was a very nice touch. Overall, everything was great — but not quite a wow experience. That’s the only reason I’m giving it 4 stars instead of 5. Not because something was missing, but simply because everything was good, just not exceptional. The hot dishes were a bit weaker compared to the starters — we ordered two mains. Still, the overall experience was pleasant and I enjoyed it.

Beautiful location on the Bosphorous. The staff were wonderful and attentive with our group of 14. The food tasted incredible. We highly recommend and will be back.

Great food, great service and perfect atmosphere. the only thing that annoyed me is that I booked well in advance and asked for a table by the window but we didnt get what we requested. we still had a lovely view though. Cocktails were very nice as well. Staff were very attentive.

1. The seafood main dish (platter) was average, not even close to what you can get in some usual restaurants in Europe. 2. Service was ok, but salad was brought later than other dishes and the waiter told us that they were busy. 3. Three stars just for the view.

Difficult Reach Location: The restaurant is situated in a beautiful area, but unfortunately, it’s quite difficult to access. Reaching the venue can be challenging, especially for first-time visitors. Car Parking: No dedicated parking is available, which adds to the inconvenience of visiting, particularly if you’re arriving by car. Entrance: The main entrance is hard to find and unwelcoming, with a closed gate that can confuse guests and detract from the overall first impression. Customer Service: The staff were polite, but not very attentive to customers’ needs. Requests took time to be fulfilled, and there was little initiative in offering assistance or recommendations. Staff: Courteous but not very proactive or engaging, especially considering the high-end expectations of the venue. Dining Tables: The tables are comfortable, but most do not offer the expected scenic Bosphorus view, which is one of the main attractions advertised by the restaurant. Food Menu: The food is the highlight of the experience. The Albanian liver and Rack of Lamb were both perfectly cooked and full of flavor—definitely worth trying. Hygiene: Cleanliness is well maintained throughout the dining area and facilities. Drinks: Unfortunately, the drinks did not meet expectations in terms of taste or variety. Prices: The restaurant is very expensive, and given the service and experience, it doesn’t fully justify the price tag. Overall: Feriye Restaurant offers great food in a classy setting, but logistical difficulties, lack of parking, and service gaps make it fall short of a premium dining experience. Suitable for a special culinary try, but not for those seeking ease and full value.

A must every time we go to Istanbul! We went there for the first time in 2021 to celebrate our engagement, arriving by boat and making the experience even more wonderful. The views are stunning, the service impeccable and the food outstanding! We were back just a few weeks ago and loved it again :)

Disgusting and unacceptable experience. The manager, a lady, was extremely rude and dismissive from the moment we arrived. She claimed the restaurant was “fully reserved,” even though it was clearly almost empty. It was very obvious that she simply did not want to seat us. The way we were treated made us strongly feel that my wife’s hijab was the reason they refused to welcome us. This kind of behavior is shameful, discriminatory, and completely unacceptable — especially in a Muslim country. We did not feel humiliated; we felt disgusted by the attitude and the lack of basic respect. Hospitality is supposed to mean welcoming people, not judging them. I would never recommend a place that makes guests feel unwelcome because of how they look or dress.
