Outstanding charcoal grill restaurant on the Arnavutköy waterfront road. The lamb şiş is exceptional — properly marinated, cooked over hardwood charcoal by someone who clearly knows what they are doing. The setting on this beautiful stretch of Bosphorus is a bonus.

Excellent ocakbaşı experience. Sitting around the open fire watching the grill master work is theatre as much as it is dinner. The meat quality is excellent and the meze selection is thoughtful. Make a reservation.

Best charcoal grill I've had in Istanbul. The aged beef cuts are genuinely special, and the technique at the grill is impressive. Arnavutköy is worth the trip from central Istanbul for this alone.

A proper ocakbaşı restaurant in one of Istanbul's most beautiful neighbourhoods. The food is excellent — especially the lamb — and the atmosphere around the open charcoal grill is unique. Good wine list too.
