Shang Palace

It’s not worth the money. We have orders hand pulled noodles. But they just served normal Chow Mein. The Chinese dishes are nothing special. For this price you can better eat somewhere else.

The space is undeniably fancy and the ambiance gives off a high-end, Cantonese-style dining experience. But to be honest, I was quite disappointed overall. Given the upscale setting and premium pricing, I expected much more in terms of flavor and quality. Most of the dishes felt like they were pre-made or frozen and then steamed—not necessarily a problem in itself, but not what you’d expect for the price point. The taste was very average, and nothing really stood out. It’s not terrible, but for this price and environment, I expected fresh, well-prepared dim sum with refined flavors. You’re mostly paying for the setting, not the food.

My husband and I had lunch at Shang palace this afternoon, the dim sum and noodles were delicious, possibly the best dim sum we have ever ate. The service was also outstanding Dilara was so attentive and professional and the Tea Master was an amazing experience!

The 4 stars is for the stinginess of the serving size. It would have been a negligible cost difference to present 4 Shu mai or 4 Prawns, but a huge difference in customer perception and satisfaction. Especially given the exorbitant prices. Now that's out of the way... The food was absolutely delicious and the service was fantastic. I also really enjoyed the atmosphere of the restaurant. Shame about the stingy servings.

A fantastic restaurant. A wide selection of cocktails and drinks. The food is excellent and a great selection of prawns,beef and chicken. The tea ceremony is lovely and the swan dessert is perfect. Quiet and cosy ambience.

We experienced the Five-Course “Taste of Shangri-La” menu at Shang Palace, inside the elegant @shangrilaistanbul — and it was an unforgettable culinary journey. ✨ The refined ambiance and sophisticated flavors made us feel as if we had stepped into one of the finest Asian restaurants abroad. Every dish was beautifully executed, but the Wok-Seared Live Lobster with Tobiko Caviar and the Wok-Fried Vegetable Jasmine Rice with Truffle and Garlic were the absolute highlights. 🦞🍚 And of course, an evening @shangpalace.istanbul wouldn’t feel complete without a round of dim sum — after all, skipping dim sum at a Chinese restaurant would almost feel like bad luck! 🥢😉 With its warm hospitality and world-class cuisine, Shangri-La Istanbul truly lived up to the global Shangri-La standard — we didn’t miss London at all! 💛

The food was delicious, but the experience was very disrupted because the first female staff member forgot to place my order. It ruined the enjoyment of the meal as I had to wait for the duck to arrive separately. Considering the price of the food at this hotel, I expected much better service. Nevertheless, I still tipped generously. As for the atmosphere, from my personal experience of visiting Shangri-La hotels in many countries, the Chinese restaurants are usually not tucked away in such hidden corners. Personally, I didn’t like the atmosphere of the Chinese restaurant here — it felt cramped, dark, and uncomfortable.

I have a complain, my friend stopped talking to me.... because she was busy enjoying the food 😂. Chef Chang Lu's technique was excellent. The ingredients were fresh and were perfectly executed. Mr Onur was a gem in the customer service department. My friend and I were very happy with our experience at Shangri-La.

Amazing chinese food! We are asian tourists in Turkey really craving asian style family food. This place was perfect. Quite pricey, but worth the money. The crispy fried whole lobster with garlic was a must have, we licked the plate clean!

Actual restaurant was closed and they were serving food on the terrace which had an amazing views of Bosporus and excellent staff to serve the food. Crispy duck was the highlight of the menu with black bean beef and shrimp noodles. Pancakes served with duck were the best ever I tried and coupled with the sauces, it was amazing. Must try dish is Peking duck. Sorbet ice cream presentation was out of this world. Burak was the great host at the restaurant who provided us with the best service. Enjoy
